Pilatus Private Guided Day Hike Itinerary
This Pilatus Private Guided Day Hike has been designed to let you experience the best of the Lake Lucerne area. Ride the steepest cogwheel train in the world and discover a breathtaking panorama of Central Switzerland’s ten lakes and innumerable peaks. Eat lunch at an alpine restaurant and enjoy a trip back to Lucerne on a 100-year-old steamer.
Your guide will pick you up at 8:30 am at your hotel. If you’re not staying in Lucerne, you will meet them at Lucerne Torbogen.
We depart at 9:10 am to Eigenthal Talboden. From here we will start a gentle hike to the foot of Mt. Pilatus. Here we will take a gondola to Frankmuentegg station, with cable car to the top of Pilatus. Once on the top, we will continue with a summit hike. There will be time to explore all the attraction the mountain has to offer.
After that we will descend Mt. Pilatus by steepest cogwheel train in the world to Alpnachstad. Here we will embark on a 100-year-old steamer bound to Lucerne. Enjoy a relaxing cruise on a calm lake.
IMPORTANT
The highlight of the tour is at the top of Mt. Pilatus, viewing the incredible alpine panoramic scenery. Our challenge is to get you to the top so you have the view you have come to experience.
Because of Mt. Pilatus’s 7000 ft. height, this mountain attracts clouds and often the clouds appear in the afternoon and sometimes in the mornings. On the day of your tour we will share our schedule so you are on top at the right time to get the view.
This means we may flip flop the schedule to get you to the top as early as we can and then in the afternoon take the cable car and gondola down to do our hike through the forest and postal bus back to Lucerne.
We will be back in Lucerne around 5:00 pm.
